What we expect of you

  • Be positive, confident and upbeat! SMILE!
  • Greet everyone personally, even if busy, this will make you approachable.
  • Use positive, effective body language and eye contact. Do not fold arms or lean on table.
  • Answer all questions as best you can but don’t guess the answers. Ask consumer for name and contact if you are unaware of the answer and offer to have someone contact them.
  • If necessary, arrive early enough to set up for a shift.  Upon arrival introduce yourself to the onsite contact.
  • Arrive presentable and dressed appropriately with a positive energy!
  • No chewing gum or smoking in promotional attire or on site.
  • Absolutely NO cell phone usage on contracted site unless you need to contact Buzz Promotions.
  • No alcohol or drug-related consumption, pre, during and post project. Buzz Promotions holds no liability for the sub contractor after contract completion, if alcohol is consumed.
  • No solicitation of self-employment with client while working under contract with Buzz Promotions.  If approached for similar work, while under contract with Buzz Promotions, you will refer potential clients to Buzz Promotions management.  If a client approaches you outside of company time or if you are speaking directly to any of Buzz Promotions’ clients you met directly through a Buzz Promotions shift about future work it is considered a conflict of interest to keep you on the roster.  This applies to clients or client affiliates that have already worked with you via Buzz Promotions.
  • All communications with Buzz Promotions are to remain confidential.
  • There is no personal complaining or conversation with client, crew, friend or family while under contract.
  • Complete event reports if required/requested.  A $10.00 per month fee will be deducted from your pending check for any reports not handed in by the first of each month.
  • Never expect gas/parking/meals to be provided unless specified.
  • Report any misbehaviour from other team members or client immediately.
  • If asked to work overtime you or client must call Buzz Promotions.  If you are unable to reach Buzz Promotions, leave a message and notify client that billing procedures will be dealt with by Buzz Promotions the following business day.  It is your responsibility to report overtime within 24 hours of your shift to ensure appropriate accounting. Failure to do so could result in not being paid for overtime.
  • Tasters from provinces outside BC will be required to call or text their booking agent at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • If you will be late or unable to fulfill a booking you must immediately contact Buzz Promotions. Be aware of our phone numbers.
  • Notification on only office phone voicemail is not sufficient for shift cancellation. Nor is e-mail or text message. All above done on a sole basis will be counted as a strike against you.
  • Not showing up for a booking with no notice will result in a penalty of 100% potential contracted earnings to be owed to Buzz Promotions if 48 hour business notice is not given, and you are not replaced unless record of emergency is obtained.  This includes any subsequent costs and deductions given to the client as compensation for no-shows or unacceptable behaviour.

How the Buzz Promotions roster works

  • Your photograph will be submitted to clients for consideration if necessary.  Buzz Promotions reserves the rights to use, re-use, publish, and re-publish photographic portraits of you, in whole or in part, in any and all media now or hereafter known for promotion, advertising, trade, or any other purpose associated with Buzz Promotions. • A cheque will be issued to independent contractors once a month, on the 15th, following the month worked. All cheques will be mailed to address provided us with, or can be picked up at the office.  Monthly invoices must be handed in before cheques can be sent.
